I was born in Malang City, East Java 23 years ago. In my childhood memories I remembered that Malang City was a comfort place to grown up. The air is still fresh, the city temperature is quite cool, and it is still driving, walking, and biking friendly.
But now it has been becoming a bad traffic city. Sometimes you have to spend 1 hour for just 2 or 3 km. It is quite horrible! And it's getting worse in holidays!
The city government should have done something about it. They can learn about managing the traffic from Surabaya. Now I actually live in surabaya for my undergraduate law degree (yeah, you know, sometimes working on thesis need a while, hihi). Surprisingly, it's quite hard to find a bad traffic jam here.
Surabaya which is formerly known as a "severe traffic city" has became one of the most comfortable city to live in Indonesia. And I believe that Malang can reclaim that title again!
